Based on wePowder’s infrastructure, content and team, I co-founded a more mainstream publishing company, of which I became the CTO. With digital being part of our DNA, our goal was not just to bring a high quality winter sports magazine to the masses, but also to combine print and digital in new ways. Among others, this has led to a new concept for the ski test, which featured video reviews per product in combination with a digital tool that recommends the right ski based on a couple of questions. This tool was also published via our mobile webapp, making it the perfect interactive buyer’s guide, which consumers could actually use in-store. Our mobile webapp also featured an extensive resort-guide, including resort information, snow-conditions and webcams.

At VerseSneeuw, I am part of the editorial team and responsible for all digital (mobile and online) product development, from concept to implementation. Our magazine has become one of the leading players in the Benelux in just two years time and as of 2012, VerseSneeuw will join forces with, the largest mainstream wintersport community in the Benelux. Our goal is to broaden the scope of the project, gain even more digital momentum and significantly accelerate subscription growth.
